梅宏乃计算机软件专家、中国科学院院士、发展中国家科学院院士、欧洲科学院外籍院士以及电气和电子工程师学会会士（IEEE Fellow）。主要从事软件工程和系统软件领域的研究，在构件化软件中间件、开发方法学和工具环境等方面取得了系列成果。获国家技术发明专利授权十余项。承担了数十项国家级科研项目，两次担任国家973计划项目首席科学家。曾获国家技术发明一等奖和二等奖、国家自然科学二等奖、国家科技进步二等奖等科技成果奖励。

讲座上，梅宏将探讨在互联网时代下，人类群体的跨时空大规模协同成为可能，并促进了网络空间人类群体智能系统的探索和成功实践；除回顾群体智能研究的历史外，他也将分享其最新进展和有关应用。

澳大近年积极推动尖端领域的科研发展，成立了不同重点实验室和研究中心。2018年澳大获国家科技部批准设立全国第一个智慧城市物联网领域的国家重点实验室——澳大智慧城市物联网国家重点实验室，定位解决智慧城市物联网关键科学和技术问题，开发智慧城市的示范应用。为强化学术支撑，重点实验室设有学术委员会，由相关领域的专家学者所组成，梅宏是该委员会主席。

讲座题目：In Search of Alternative Data in the Era of Big Data

讲座摘要：Conventional corporate financial data has historically provided investors with insights on past performance and prospects for the future. In the old days, such data was useful to investors particularly when business growth was relatively steady. Accounting statements showed the momentum of growth and to some extent foreshadowed future trends. However, in the modern era, markets are more dynamic. The development of new technologies such as artificial intelligence and the advent of pandemics means business environments are full of uncertainty. Investors have begun to doubt whether records of past activities are an adequate guide to the future. Fortunately, alternative data is emerging to give investors a fuller picture of corporate performance. These go beyond corporate filings, earnings releases, and fundamental datasets. They include various sources of non‐financial data, which provide timely new signals to investors in understanding corporate performance. In this seminar, we focus on one type of alternative data—co-search in infomediaries (e.g., Yahoo! Finance and Sina Finance) and present various studies that use the alternative data to identify investors’ stock preferences, cross-returns predictability, and information diffusion.

嘉宾简介：

梁仲文博士是香港城市大学商学院信息系统系副教授，兼任工商管理计算金融和金融技术的副项目主任和学科顾问。 梁博士于德克萨斯大学奥斯汀分校麦库姆斯商学院信息、风险与运营管理系获得信息管理哲学博士学位与硕士学位，于香港大学获得哲学硕士、工程学士及工商管理学士学位。梁博士的研究兴趣在于金融和信息系统的交叉领域，包括信息技术商业价值、商业分析与信息安全。梁博士在信息系统领域顶级期刊上发表了多篇研究成果，其中包括Management Science, Management Information Systems Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems等。梁博士获得了国际信息系统协会、香港大学教育资助委员会和香港城市大学颁发的多项杰出研究和教学奖项，目前担任Decision Support Systems和The Communications of the Association for Information Systems的副主编。
